30 minutes of this in the morning helps Justin get out of bed.
When I get to any show, I usually arrive with expectations – for better or worse. I’m happy to say that, even though I can always expect something positive out of a Beta Bar show, last night’s experience was above and beyond what I had expected. We made some new fans. Saw some great bands. And, over all, had a splendid experience. What a great place to play. Thanks to Robert, Jake, Jeremy, Kelly, TrueWill and all the Beta Bar staff who made last night a success. Opening for Matt Costa, three fifths of Maida Vale did a little acoustic number and found some new angles to older songs. As well, we tried out some new material. The crowd seemed to like it all. So you can expect to hear those new ones at the next show. As with most shows we also gained a useful batch of information that includes, in no particular order: 1) Hit it hard enough and you can make anything sound like a kick drum. Thanks for the great evening. Hope to see ya at the next one. -Justin
Eric took one look at that crowd and decided to give ‘em their song. Nothing like last minute changes.
Matt Costa Pre-Show: Eric gives Justin a lesson on how to tech for a mouth-harp player.
